Taxi in Caleta de Fuste, El Castillo and Costa Antigua

Caleta de Fuste is the base of the service. Everyday rides leave from here: to an apartment, the beach, the marina or a shop in the village. CaleTaxi is the name of this site; the taxi is that of Asociación de Taxi de Caleta de Fuste Antigua Primera, with 22 municipal licences.

If you ask for us at a hotel or complex, give the name and say whether the pick-up is at reception or at another door. Many entrances look alike. The exact name saves a loop of the grounds.

El Castillo and Caleta de Fuste are the same place. The short name comes from the castle that faces the sea. Someone looking for a taxi in El Castillo is looking for the radio taxi here, not for another municipality or another association.

We pick up and drop off by the castle, at the apartments around it and on the promenade. Either name works; add the hotel or a street reference so the point is clear.

It is not a second company. It is CaleTaxi, the same association, with the same municipal licences of Antigua.

Costa Antigua is where most of the resort coast of Antigua sits. The taxi goes into complexes, receptions and inner streets that a map does not always separate clearly.

The trip can be short, from a hotel to the beach or to Centro Comercial Atlántico, or longer, towards the airport or another point on Fuerteventura. In both cases it is the association radio taxi.

When you request the service, use the accommodation name as it appears on the hotel booking. If there are several entrances, say which one the guests use.

Antigua is the municipality. Besides Caleta de Fuste and Costa Antigua there are the town centre, the inland settlements and residential areas such as Nuevo Horizonte. The municipal radio taxi provides the urban service across that territory.

When the destination leaves Antigua — Puerto del Rosario, the north, Betancuria or Jandía — the ride becomes an interurban trip under the island rules. The meter is still the reference for the amount. This website has no fixed price.

In ordinary conditions the town centre is about a quarter of an hour from Caleta de Fuste. The time changes with traffic and it is not a guaranteed schedule. It is the right trip for an errand, the health centre or a visit to the village.

Nuevo Horizonte is a residential area of Antigua, away from the beach at Caleta. People who live there request the taxi to go down to the coast, to the town centre, to the health centre or to the airport. We also collect guests staying in the area.

We do not publish a rank of our own in Nuevo Horizonte. The service is to come to the address you give and take you to the destination, when a vehicle is available.

If the time is fixed, for example a flight or an appointment, it helps to request the taxi a little ahead. It is the same association radio taxi that works in Caleta de Fuste.

Centro Comercial Atlántico is an easy place to name in Caleta de Fuste: shops, food and a point that both residents and visitors recognise. CaleTaxi picks people up there and drops them off there.

It is not a rank of the association and it is not a space we manage. We come to collect you and we leave you at the door you indicate, the same as at a hotel or on a street.

When you request the taxi, say Centro Comercial Atlántico and, if you can, the door or the shop. At busier times, asking ahead avoids waiting on the pavement without a clear reference.

The island airport is close to Caleta de Fuste. The ride out, from the hotel, the apartment, Nuevo Horizonte or an address in the municipality, and the ride back when you land, are part of the ordinary radio-taxi service.

Give the flight time and the pick-up point. If you are arriving, give the name of the place you are staying. The municipal taxi can then organise itself within the vehicles that are actually free.
